Inspired by John Coltrane's Giant Steps, this slow swing ballad features a simple melody over a fairly complex chord structure (voiced for rhythm section if they are not playing changes).  Evoking images of dark and smoky jazz clubs of the 1950's, a dark flugelhorn or trumpet solo adds to the mystique and charm.  This beautiful chart features ensemble writing within the framework of a mature sounding, yet technically approachable ballad.
