This improvisation method for beginning and developing improvisors cuts the chord symbols out of soloing by using only major scales over standard tunes. Learn the most direct way to solo easily over the tunes that are our jazz heritage, adopted long ago from film and Broadway scores into a jazz tradition. There's no longer any reason to be afraid of improvising over the music of Gershwin, Porter, Learner and Loewe, Mercer and more. This method is ideal for classroom, private, or self-instruction, as well as music education and jazz pedagogy classes. Included are a book with sheet music for improvisors struggling with standard tunes, a play-along CD with superb rhythm section accompaniment, and a CD-ROM packed with theory instruction, listening examples, a discography, and printable accompaniment scores and parts for optional live rhythm section.
