Abide with Me

The concept is a simple one, really: Three verses of a beloved hymn, two key changes for interest, voices with piano, and a mounting intensity through the verses to heighten the emotive qualities of the prayer.  And yet this setting, with its accompaniment based on triplets, is so compelling and deeply wrought that your singers and congregation will gain a whole new appreciation for the hymn.  The final "amen" will allow everyone to breathe their own "amen" in devoted response.  Exquisite!
