This very playable solo, which is based on some timpani themes from Mahler's 7th Symphony, provides the student with some solid musical and rhythmical challenges. Written for four drums, with one tuning change at the beginning, this four and a half minute composition also uses some creative gliss opportunities to show off the developing timpanist's skills. Perfect for any type of concert, recital or audition process.
