The great city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was established during the French and Indian War when the French forces were overcome by the British.  This programmatic work depicts the battles between the two sides as they try to maintain the newly established fort.  Strains of the French national anthem are heard as the troops gain control and then lose it.  The exciting conclusion is a powerful tribute to this celebrated American city.
