Written as a remembrance to the victims of the events of 9/11, this introspective elegy is a moving tribute. With an expressive harmonic vocabulary, it makes use of several traditional sources in creating a mournful mosaic of sound. Schubert, Dvorak, and the haunting motives of Taps mingle together, supported by delicate piano writing and sections of a cappella writing.
