Sainte-Chapelle

Eric Whitacre's Sainte-Chapelle, inspired by the medieval Parisian chapel, was written for the Tallis Scholars. It depicts that stained glass masterpiece through sustained plainchant-like lines which gradually divide into more and more parts, creating shimmering tone clusters for a rich and expressive outpouring of sound.
