Surf's Up!

Inspired by the surf rock bands of the 1960s, all the musical characteristics of the style are showcased: a fast-paced driving rhythm, an agile melody, and frequent use of blues scale elements. Steady rhythms in the winds and percussion imitate the chugging of a Fender Stratocaster guitar while dynamics ebb and flow until an energetic coda delivers a tsunami of sound that fills the concert hall.
