As the title suggests, this is a musically expressive farewell to the night and greeting to a new day. Opening softly with a gentle motive, the piece evolves through simple, yet expressive material that transitions to a climax before resolving to a peaceful finish. A mature, lyric work that can be performed by the youngest of bands.
