Shepherds Heard a Lullaby

A sweet text by Kathy Powell joins the sound of a lullaby on the air calling to the shepherds with images of the bright star that led them to the Christ child. Interesting harmonic textures lead each verse to its climax. The accompaniment and choral voice leading work together in a lovely blend. They create a singular motif that depicts the journey of the shepherds and then invokes us to find the love of God in the infant Jesus.
