I Am Not My Own

This beautifully written anthem for choir, piano and trumpet with lyrics written by Susan Bentall Boersma is based on the Heidelberg Catechism, Lord's Day 1. The lovely melody emanates from deep within the soul of the text. As the piece progresses, the voices and accompaniment move from lower registers upward toward the final, emotional declaration: "I belong to Him, I will live for Him, forever more." Additionally scored for brass quartet and percussion or full orchestra.
