Punk Phunk

Here's a laid-back "phunk" chart that will be a real crowd pleaser for your jazz ensemble no matter their level of accomplishment. From developing ensembles to the best jazz bands, Punk Phunk is pure enjoyment! At a moderate tempo, the drummer sets things up, followed by the saxes with the melody, then the trombones, then all brass. The solo section is open, or written solos are provided in the alto sax 1 and 2, and tenor sax 1 and 2 parts. After the solo section a full ensemble passage leads into a guitar solo, then a drum solo to the funky finish. This one will turn your sound up a notch!
