This song is usually associated with and performed by children, but the arranger took a different approach. Scored for a medium standard orchestra with single winds, two horns, trumpet, trombone, strings and two percussionists (including timpani). The middle contrapuntal section concludes with a quote of Amazing Grace joining the refrain of the original song. Beautiful, often surprising and dramatic, this creative arrangement and interesting orchestration lift the classic melody to a whole new level. This piece was premiered by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
