Mystic Chant

Rising out of a misty, impressionistic sound environment, the chant-like melody of this original work first appears in flutes and trumpets. As the piece progresses, the slow-tempo opening is suddenly interrupted by an energetic percussion-driven variation of the principal theme, like a stab of sunlight burning through the fog. This fascinating composition will be a welcome addition to concert or contest programs.
