Vocalise
Publisher Desc.
An arrangement for Soloist and Chamber orchestra of Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise." Composed and published in 1912, the work was originally written for high voice (soprano or tenor), sung using one vowel (of the singer's choosing). This scoring is for Soprano Saxophone, performed and recorded by Soloist David Ehrke and The Foundation Orchestra in 2003. However, the part may be played any other Bb instrument, e.g., Clarinet, Cornet, Tenor Saxophone, etc. In addition, a part in the Key of C is included for Voice, or Flute, Oboe, or other C instrumental soloist. There is even a part in Eb, for perhaps Alto Saxophone! The full orchestration is for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Harp, Tympani, Soloist, and Strings.
