Catalonian Carols

Catalonia (the northeastern region of Spain) boasts a long and varied history of music making. This work taps into that deep well of inspiration to create a rich and musical setting for strings. It utilizes two traditional melodies from the this area: Carol of the Birds and On Christmas Eve. The piece offers a great opportunity for expressive playing, phrasing, and exercising your players' musicality without having to drill too much on technical difficulty.
