Four Sacred Choruses: 1. Ave Verum Corpus

Scored for soprano solo, SATB chorus, and chamber orchestra or piano, this work is the first movement of Mollicone's "Four Sacred Choruses." This movement features mostly choral homophonic singing on the sacred traditional Latin text. Throughout one will find lovely vocal lines in an adagio tempo in 3/4 time, with a harmonic language that is modern and free, and with nice tonal sections arriving at cadence points.
