This book is devoted to guidelines for the teacher suggesting a creative way of teaching. These guidelines are founded on a certain set of premises, which should be an integral part of each teacher’s instructional plan. The text provides an in-depth analysis of melody, one of the five elements of music as used in the approach developed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman. Each chapter outlines a specific component of melody explaining in detail how this component empowers the teaching of melody to children. The melodic examples come from world folklore or from simple compositions with accompaniments also presented in elemental style.
