Croatan Warrior

This piece depicts the ferocity with which the Croatan tribe defended themselves. Beginning with a distant drum, a tranquil pentatonic melody is presented by the flute, floating through the air. The peaceful opening is overcome by a much more driving, and angry tone, The work drives forward toward an exuberant and triumphant finish, providing every section an opportunity to play something fun and challenging.
