Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven

The hymn tune LAUDA ANIMA is the source of this majestic arrangement which is appropriate throughout the church year. Beginning with a fanfare introduction, the first stanza is presented in a powerful, straightforward style. Two softer, more flowing stanzas are next, featuring LV accompaniments, a treble countermelody, the tune in the middle range, and an eighth-note obbligato. A crescendo leads into a reprise of the introduction and a brilliant, shimmering conclusion.
