Variations on a Celtic Tune

The poignant lament Mo Ghile Mear (My Gallant Hero) was authored after the defeat of the Scots ending dreams of the restoration of the House of Stuart. Touching and emotional, it opens with a flute solo, building gradually as layers of instrumental groups are blended in. After shifting to a lilting 6/8 style, prominent percussion helps propel the work forward, culminating in a majestic full ensemble finale.
