For choir and optional congregation, this arrangement of the familiar French carol will be a welcome addition to any Christmas service. Simple yet creative part-writing will showcase the choir against the congregation. The middle verse includes choir-only sections with opportunities for women and men to sing beautifully in moving thirds. A simple modulation provides lift, and the piece finishes with a quiet unison. Orchestration is available separately for flute, oboe (or flute 2), two B-flat clarinets, percussion, two violins, viola, cello, string bass, and piano.
