An absolutely superb composition! Beginning with a strong flavor of the English countryside, featuring lively but very playable thematic material in the trumpets and upper woodwinds over rock-solid writing in the lower voices, this then goes into a lush middle section introduced by a short, lyric trumpet solo before returning to the opening thematic material. This is an exceptionally fine work, and we recommend it very highly!
