Walking in the Light of Freedom

Use spirituals, plantation songs, freedom songs, children's songs and games, blues, jazz, and gospel to reveal the true nature of African-American culture and the role its music has played in the history of America. Walking in the Light of Freedom will serve as a major resource series with its chronological history of songs, speech and rhythmic activities, and stories and commentaries that have been designed to appeal to all students.
