Two Swedish Folk Melodies, Op. 27

These two charming folk melodies from Norwegian composer and violinist Johan Svendsen (1840-1911) were first published in 1876 and 1878, respectively. Svendsen's skilled orchestration reflects the folk music idioms of his homeland, likely influenced by the work of his close friend and contemporary, Edvard Grieg.
