This just might be the best laid-back jazz ballad to come along since Li'l Darlin'! After a short intro, the melody is played by a quartet made up of your best players... trumpet, alto, tenor and trombone. The whole band joins in for some great ensemble work (with the trumpets never leaving the staff) which leads to an easy, but very cool written piano solo. Then more great ensemble and finally the piano is again featured at the end. The piano part is completely written out and the right hand has a single note line throughout. On top of all this, it will even sound great with reduced instrumentation. There's nothing high, loud or fast here, but what a great way to impress an audience by showcasing your band's ability to play with A Gentle Touch! Our highest recommendation!
