A Shepherd's Tale weaves scripture and carols in the shepherd's story, creating a richly colored Christmas tapestry. Threading through the simple SATB choral texture is the delightful sound of children's voices (or soloist, women's voices). Simple narration for two speakers complete this musical. The optional instrumental parts include flute, two trumpets, acoustic guitar, percussion, and handbells, with the bell part playable by either singers or ringer. Performance time: 30 minutes.
