This gorgeous arrangement of the tune EVENTIDE may be used for services centered on the themes of healing, hope, guidance, faith, and trust, as well as for compline, vespers, or other evening services.  Handchimes may be used in the bass on the second stanza for a stunning effect, while the treble bells are softly malleted.  The optional flute obligato provides a lovely Celtic-like counter-melody, which is used in the introduction, and as a soaring descant on the final stanza.  Bell changes are minimal and easy, making this moving arrangement very accessible for worship, concert or festival use.
