This arrangement of the Mendelssohn melody is quite beautiful and lyrical.  The counterpoint in the upper voices is a lovely contrast to the moving bass line. Everyone shares the main theme at some point in the piece.  There are also a few brief solo quintet passages that add a touch of color to this well-crafted adaptation.
