While requiring only intermediate level technique its frequent use of a duple rhythm melody set against a triple rhythm accompaniment and its occasional use of odd meters and meter changes probably make this more appropriate for the advanced-intermediate level pianist. Allegro throughout this work is perfect for someone looking to expand from the classic favorite carol repertoire and with its uplifting spirit would be appropriate as a seasonal church prelude or postlude. Although lyrics are provided Angel Bells was originally conceived and is presented here as a keyboard solo.
