Product Description
The Carolinas is a challenging recital suite for the late-intermediate pianist. The first movement is entitled Dogwoods in Bloom and combines trills and grace notes in the melodic line to showcase the delicate nature of the dogwood blossom, the state flower of North Carolina. The second movement is entitled Dancin' the Myrtle Beach Shag and it is a lively, jazzy movement with swing eighth notes, triplets and syncopation. The last movement is entitled Storm on the Carolina Coast and features a dramatic finish to this great suite. This movement is written in 6/8 time and showcases heavy accents and staccatos, which are used to show the fury of the storms that hit the Carolina coast.
