Inspired by California's Sequoia National Park, whose breathtaking vistas unfold in the beautiful and lyric sounds. Flute and clarinet solo fragments invoke vivid imagery of this beautiful meadow, after which a short section of contrasting style leads to a dramatic final statement. The work then subsides, ending as it began, with uncommon sensitivity.  Ideal for young band repertoire.
