Frankly Speaking!
A chorale introduction leads into a funky groove in this Victor Lopez hot jazz/funk original. The saxophones deliver the heat with some hot solis, and the brass section stays busy as well. The rhythm section parts are critical, especially the bass, but it's not too complex, and the whole chart sounds more difficult than it plays. The solo space is for tenor 1 with plenty of backgrounds and the lead trumpet range is to written B-flat above the staff. Super style, super chart, super Victor Lopez! Highly recommended!
