Driving rhythms abound in this original contest work. Performable by string or full orchestra, the piece is contemporary in nature and includes a mysterious section that has the upper strings using natural harmonics. Full of energy and vitality!
Clare Grundman will be long remembered for his exquisite symphonic works
of American music, and American Folk Rhapsody has remained one of
his most beloved. This superb piece, originally written in 1948,
is a wonderful example of his exceptional writing/arranging skills. Including:
My Little Mohee (more commonly known as On Top of Old Smokey);
Shantyman's Life; Sourwood Mountain and Sweet Betsy from Pike,
this is an outstanding, proven work for both concert and contest. Perfect
for band directors who know this work well and want to work with strings!

This powerful work based on the greek goddess uses syncopation and accents to build tension and captivate the audience. The main moods in the work are marked "Allegro con Fuoco" and "giocoso"' as the music moves from a serious minor mode sound to a major key ending.

The big discovery in recent years is the power and excitement of orchestral
music composed for video games! The national tour of Video Games
Live sells out in every town it visits. Now students have the
chance to play this dynamic music. Victor Lopez' five-and-
a-half minute tour de force can be the hit of your next concert!
Don't miss this vibrant, powerful work! Simple quarter and eighth note rhythms, limited note ranges and the key of D make this very accessible, but your players will feel like they're playing an advanced concert work! Forceful motives, biting dissonances, and thunderous percussion create a sense of awe that is not just pretend...this truly is an exciting piece to play or listen to! It's a really neat piece for young full or string orchestras!
It's ghostly! It's creepy! Your orchestra will love it! From the driving opening motives to the quirky gypsy-sounding theme, this is haunted-house music at its best! You can play this with either full or string orchestra, but the percussion section is really vital and should be used in both cases. This is recommended and will thrill and delight your audience! A winner!
This vibrant new original from Larry Clark will be a great addition to your performance! The opening fanfare in 3/4 time naturally transforms into a dance-like theme with a Celtic lilt. There's a brief slow passage in the strings which, instead of lessening the energy, builds suspense. It is finally resolved by the triumphant return of the opening fanfare leading to the resounding finish!
