A German Requiem, Op. 45
Brahms' signature work was his most ambitious and marked a turning point in the composer's career. It is believed to have been composed in memory of Robert Schumann or possibly the passing of Brahms' mother. The Kalmus edition is often selected for performance because it offers the full vocal score in either English or German along with all orchestral parts.
