Lady of the Lake
Although this programmatic work is set throughout in E minor, it contains three contrasting sections which visit 4/4, 3/4, and 6/8 time. The Lady of the Lake is the mysterious woman associated with the legend of King Arthur. In fact, she is the one who gives Arthur his famous sword, Excalibur. The composer does an expert job of offering great learning tools in this piece, yet it is also a superb concert and festival work.
