The Bach family, including Johann Sebastian and his sons, composed and transcribed songs, dances and pieces of the day into this precious notebook. Some were used by Bach's wife, Anna Magdalena, a vocalist. Others were used to instruct the Bach children. The 42 pieces have been edited by Ernst-Gunter Heinemann. An enlightening preface is included in German, English and French. Includes critical commentary.
