Oh, No!
It's hard to say which is more effective, the sprightly and ardent "Oh, no!" refrain, or the fluid, pensive middle section of this setting of a poem by Thomas Haynes Bayley. Contrasting sonorities, modalities, dynamics and articulations demonstrate the conflict of emotions in the text, and the result is very entertaining! "Oh, no! We never mention him at all!"
