Rhoda Map
Named after jazz organist, Rhoda Scott, this is Mike Carubia's slightly easier take on a Thad Jones classic. This writing is typical Thad and was a favorite of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra and it is still played by the Village Vanguard Orchestra. The tempo is around 128-132 bpm, the form is AABA and the chart displays classic Thad Jones' harmonic and melodic approach for composing for big band. Included are suggested solos and an optional flute part. Written ranges: Trumpet 1 to A; Trombone to G; Alto Sax to D. It's a great one!
