Marvelous string effects combine with a haunting melody to tell the tale of Louis and Clark's native Indian guide.  This piece won the 2009 Texas Orchestra Directors Association composition contest.  It is a work that will grab the audience's attention from the bare opening, with optional singing and solo violin, to the eerie ending with sounds evoking the mists of the forest at dawn.
