Scarborough Fair
Here's a creative setting of this time-honored folk song that begins with a slow rubato introduction featuring a soloist or any combination of soloists before breaking into a hard-driving rock style at around 138 bpm. All sections of the ensemble get a chance to shine, the improvisation section has only two chords, and the background parts provide plenty of support for the soloists. An easy-to-play 2/4 measure is thrown in here and there along with the 4/4 meter creating an occasional 6/4 feel. Full of contrasts and excitement, this is not your grandfather's Scarborough Fair!
