Symphonic Portrait
F.E. Bigelow composed Our Director in 1892, and in the decades that followed it became widely used in an array of settings, such as silent films, vaudeville and college fight songs. This impressive composition for band gives the famous march a symphonic treatment. It opens with a noble introduction leading to hints of the march's trio theme. The theme is alternated with an original theme until both appear gloriously together.
