Publisher Desc.  Commissioned by the American Composers forum for the ChoralQuest program, composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha Tate created Taloowa' Chipota in residence with a middle level choir within the Chickasaw nation in his home state of Oklahoma. The two movements, "Hashiat Kochcha (Sunrise)" and "Loksi' Hakshop (Turtle Shells)" were created as classical choral works comprised of traditinal Chickasaw melodies, rhythmic textures and language.
