Teddy Bear's Picnic
Let these frolicking bears steal the next concert! Idyllic, yet sophisticated in a bouncy 6/8, Bob Lipton's treatment of this American two-step march plays nicely with a string orchestra. The march was composed during the height of "teddy bear" mania associated with President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, with lyrics added in 1937. "Beneath the trees, where nobody sees. They'll hide and seek as long as they please. Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic!"
