This arrangement of the familiar carol begins very much like a traditional four-part setting but progresses in the expansion of the choral parts as the piece develops. The voice leading is superb and accessible throughout. Mary's final statement of "My soul shall laud and magnify his holy name" is florid and joyful. The final choral "Gloria" ends softly. An engaging and interesting arrangement!
