Publisher Desc.  Inspired by the composers visit to the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park, The Ghosts of Mesa Verde imagines a tentative descent into an ancient kiva where the past comes to life in a vibrant and exuberant dance, then evaporates suddenly as the fire sends smoke up the chimney and out into the night. Scored for two flutists, the first flute doubling Piccolo and the second flute doubling Alto Flute. Also, each player is required to play a shaker at various points throughout the piece.
