The Road Out West
This wonderfully musical chart features a light rock, straight eighth note groove as a foundation for a beautiful, soulful tune that conjures images of a lonesome road. Inventive harmonies and contrapuntal techniques provide interesting parts for all sections. Written solos are provided for guitar, or vibes, or trumpet and alto or tenor sax. After the solos the ensemble builds to a rousing recap of the melody and ending. The trumpet range goes to written F and the trombone to F. Very nice!
