Chromaticism, dissonance and whole tone passages are all used to capture the movement of a circus clown on a unicycle. The music twists and turns as our intrepid unicycle rider does everything he can to stay on. Finally there is a long pause as he catches his balance, only to lose it once more before comically racing to the finish.
