Robert Herrick's well-known Christmas poem is lyrical and deeply spiritual in tone.  Hal Hopson has set this beautiful poem in a way that matches the lyricism of the text with long flowing choral lines.  The addition of the optional string quartet brings even greater warmth to the mood of this beautiful piece. The SSAA edition is not compatible with the instrumental parts.
