Bradley S. Hartman was born in New York and studied Music Education and Trombone Performance at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, where he received a Bachelor's of Music degree. While studying there, he began arranging pieces for brass quintet, and later wrote compositions for trombone quartet and jazz combo. At his senior trombone recital, he premiered his first original brass quintet, "Meditation", a three-movement work. Since then, Mr. Hartman is an educator on Long Island, the Assistant Conductor of the Nassau County Community College Band (Garden City, NY), the Assistant Director and Membership Coordinator of the Smithtown Community Band (Smithtown, NY), and in August 2014, named as a Composer-in-Residence for the Smithtown Community Band. Mr. Hartman is affiliated as both a composer and a self-publisher with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). In addition to composing, Mr. Hartman has been invited to be a guest conductor and clinician in both collegiate and public school settings. Most recently, Mr. Hartman was named the Assistant Conductor of the Northwinds Symphonic Band in Glen Head, NY. He is working towards his second Master's degree in Wind Conducting and currently resides on Long Island.
